Two names, two audiences
Jigar describes itself as a Persian dating app for mature adults: its homepage says “Mature Adults Only” and “33+”, and its FAQ says it is for adults, mostly 33 and over, who are serious about long-term relationships. The FAQ explains the name as a Persian term of endearment meaning “my heart” or “my beloved”, and dates a new chapter for the company, with new leadership and a major product release, to May 15, 2026 (jigarapp.com and Jigar FAQ, reviewed on September 25, 2026).
LoveJan takes its name from جان, jan, the word added to a name when someone is dear. It launched in 2026 on iPhone and Android for Persian and Iranian singles in the US, starting in Los Angeles and Orange County, and it is open to adults of every age. Its defining rule is that a profile needs verification approval before it can appear in Discover.

The trust question
Jigar’s FAQ describes its safety approach as active monitoring for fake accounts and inappropriate behavior, easy block and report tools, swift moderation and zero tolerance for abuse; members can delete their account from Profile → Settings. Its privacy policy adds that uploaded photos are checked to make sure they show a human face, and that members can choose to take part in Photo Verification, which collects face geometry data (Jigar FAQ and Jigar privacy policy, reviewed on September 25, 2026). On any app, it is worth asking whether a check is required and what it actually covers.
On LoveJan, a profile needs verification approval to appear in Discover. The standard path compares a selfie taken in the app with your profile photos, and you can ask for human review instead. Jigar’s FAQ says the app can be used without paying, with daily limits, and that upgrades are optional and shown before any purchase.
