Two apps, two ages
Sheytoon has been on the App Store since January 2016, published by Sheytoon Inc. Its US listing shows an average of 4.6 stars from 10,084 ratings, and its website describes it as “the top platform for Persian matchmaking across the world”, made in Los Angeles (App Store listing and sheytoonapp.com, reviewed on September 25, 2026). That is a long track record, and it is a real advantage: a much larger rating base usually means more people have tried it.
LoveJan launched in 2026, on iPhone and Android, starting in Los Angeles and Orange County. Its App Store listing showed 11 ratings on September 25, 2026. The idea behind it is narrower: profiles need verification approval before they can appear in Discover. If the size of the community matters most to you, the gap in ratings is worth weighing honestly.

The trust question
Both apps say they verify people, so the useful question is what the check involves and when it happens. By its own description, Sheytoon asks every member to verify, typically with a phone number, uses a face liveness check or ID in some cases, and offers the face check as an optional badge; its privacy policy says the liveness step is run through Amazon AWS and that the snapshot is kept for future verification (Sheytoon privacy policy, reviewed on September 25, 2026).
On LoveJan, a profile needs verification approval to appear in Discover. The standard path compares a selfie taken in the app with your profile photos, and you can ask for human review instead. Neither route proves who controls an account, and neither tells you whether someone is honest about their intentions. Which is right for you?
Consider Sheytoon if a large, long-established member base matters most to you, or if you are outside the US: it has been on the App Store since 2016 and describes itself as serving the Persian community worldwide (sheytoonapp.com and App Store listing, reviewed on September 25, 2026).
